26 de abr. de 2024 · Choosing a subject and topic. For your EE you have the freedom to focus on almost any topic and you will write your own question to answer. However, your topic must fit into a single DP subject (unless you choose to write an interdisciplinary essay, such as a World Studies EE that covers a topic “of contemporary global significance” and is likely to encompass two subject areas).
TOK is a course that is much greater than the sum of its parts, but ultimately students are evaluated on two final assessment tasks. And, 33% of your total IB TOK grade is dependent on your TOK presentation, which is usually graded externally, but recorded internally. As of 2014, a student who scores an E on either the extended essay or TOK essay will not be eligible to receive an IB Diploma. Prior to the class of 2010, a Diploma candidate could receive a failing grade in either the Extended Essay or Theory of Knowledge and still be awarded a Diploma, but this is no longer true.

It asks students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, and on how we know what we claim to know.
