She was the last surviving sibling of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Farris, born in Atlanta in 1927, was the oldest of the three children of Martin Luther King, Sr., and Alberta Williams King. Her brother Martin, who would become Dr. King, was born two years later in 1929.
