26 de mar. de 2013 · A los 15 años su padre marchó a Estrasburgo y Stephane se quedó solo en Paris, viviendo de lo que ganaba en la calle. Cierto día le ofrecieron sustituir a un violinista segundo en una de las orquestas que por entonces amenizaban las películas mudas. Así estuvo tocando durante un año, durante el cual descubrió el jazz.

10 de ene. de 2023 · Stéphane Grappelli (26 January, 1908 – 1 December, 1997) was a pioneering jazz violinist who founded with Django Reinhardt in 1934 the "Quintette du Hot Club de France", it was one of the first all-string jazz bands.He has been called "the grandfather of jazz violinists" and continued playing concerts around the world well into his 80s.

While he struggled to find opportunities as a jazz violinist during the 1950s, he made regular studio appearances on the BBC Light Programme, French Public Radio, and Radio Luxembourg in the 1960s.
Stéphane Grappelli (født 26. januar 1908, død 1. desember 1997) var en fransk-italiensk jazzfiolinist som sammen med Django Reinhardt stiftet Quintette du Hot Club de France. Grappelli spilte flere konserter i Norge, første gang sammen med Django Reinhardt i Gamle Logen i Oslo, 6. februar 1938, siste gang på Djangofestivalen i Oslo, januar 1994.
