2 de sept. de 2023 · Hudson’s unique gospel-oriented sound partially came from his use of the Lowery organ. But it was his amazing technique as well. Indeed, the first time I heard Hudson, it was on blues singer John Hammond Jr.’s “So Many Roads” on Vanguard (he is listed as Eric Hudson) where he played a Hammond--and his organ work on such songs as “Gambler’s Blues” is no less startling.

Eric Garth Hudson ( Windsor, Ontario, Canadá, 2 de agosto de 1937) é um multi-instrumentista canadense. Como tecladista e organista do The Band, foi um dos principais arquitetos do som único do grupo. Mestre do órgão Lowrey, o estilo e o senso orquestral de Hudson anteciparam muitos dos avanços sonoros do sintetizador polifônico.
