Loleatta Holloway. Soundtrack: Killer Elite. Loleatta Holloway was born on November 5, 1946, to a musical family. At the tender age of five, she began performing gospel songs with her mother, a member of the church chorus. Obessesed with the music, she went on to study music and melody, and graduated from college with a degree in music.
Loleatta Holloway begann bereits als Kind in einem Gospelchor zu singen. In den 1960er Jahren nahm sie erste Platten auf. In den frühen 1970er Jahren spielte sie schließlich im Musical Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope. In jenen Tagen lernte sie auch ihren späteren Ehemann und Manager Floyd Smith (1917–1982) kennen.
