Para recrear las condiciones óptimas de su hábitat su acuario necesitan: Sustrato oscuro que no tenga aristas. Les gusta tener abundante vegetación. Agua aireada y un buen sistema de filtro. Iluminación tenue. La temperatura ideal es de 20ºC (aunque puede aguantar bajas temperaturas). No son muy exigentes pero el pH puede oscilar de 6 a 8,5.
