The Go-Betweens war eine der in der Independent-Musik international einflussreichsten australischen Pop-Bands. Gegründet wurde sie 1977 in Brisbane von Robert Forster (Gitarre, Gesang) und Grant McLennan (Gitarre, Gesang). Nach dem Tod McLennans im Jahre 2006 löste sich die Band auf.
