Summary. Tennessee's Lambchop can be credited with proving the viability of chamber folk. The pieces on I Hope You're Sitting Down (1994) were artful digsuises of a gentle minstrel (guitarist/frontman Kurt Wagner) in a maze of keyboards, horns and strings. The music was more often funereal than exuberant, and the atmosphere was the equivalent of "film noir" in a Nashville setting.
