The greased hair, sideburns, and bowling shirts (not to mention the inclusion of a horn player) should naturally peg San Diego's Rocket From the Crypt as a typical retro garage act. Although the band's sound is muscular in a straightforward rock-&-roll way and they are more than capable of a pop hook, the band also owes a debt to classic hardcore and post-hardcore punk bands.

2 de may. de 2023 · Rocket from the Crypt are an interesting band to say the least. They are a punk rock group from the Crypt, if you didn't guess by the name. They originally started in 1989 and broke up in 2005 for a brief stint. They became very well known from their release called 'Scream, Dracula, Scream!' in 1995.
Rocket from the Crypt was formed in San Diego, California, in 1990, out of the ashes of a band called Pitchfork. Speedo joined with guitarist N.D., bassist Petey X, and vocalist Elaina. The band quickly recorded its first album, Paint as a Fragrance, in 1991, and while the album was well received, the new band had already started to fragment.
