Leonard Shelby is tracking down the man who raped and murdered his wife. Memento chronicles two separate stories of Leonard, an ex-insurance investigator who can no longer build new memories, as he attempts to find the murderer of his wife, which is the last thing he remembers. It is one of a kind and serves as the benchmark for non-linear storytelling. In the end, it doesn’t matter which theory about the film you believe to be correct; what matters is that the film made you think and engage.
