Contrary to most of the reviews here, which mention Hurt as the highlight, he seems miscast, at least in part because he perpetually seems on the cusp of keeling over from typhoid, a state at odds with his being an object of desire. By contrast, Bowker is impeccable casting for her role. George White ★★. Rather forgettable story of the Raj.
