Amiss’s work is held in an archive at the Wellcome Collection in London, where Morley discovered the artist’s passport with its scribbled entry under Occupation: “Typist Artist Pirate King.”

Her old passport was in there, and where you were supposed to put occupation, she had written ‘Typist Artist Pirate King’. As soon as I saw it, I knew that was going to be the title.
