Xanadu merupakan kota yang telah hilang, dengan cerita mengenai kemewahan, misteri, dan kehidupan yang ideal. Meski saat ini hanya terdapat puing-puing dari kota ini, UNESCO menobatkan Xanadu sebagai Situs Warisan Budaya Dunia.

Xanadu er en amerikansk film fra 1980 instrueret af Robert Greenwald. Olivia Newton-John spiller med i filmen.. Stednavnet stammer oprindeligt fra Shan-du, der er en by i Mongoliet nævnt af Marco Polo.Herefter optræder det som Xanadu i en bog af Samuel Purchas.. Den væsentligste kilde for inspiration med hensyn til navnet er nok Coleridges digt Kublah Khan.

It was released in June 1980 on MCA Records in the United States and July 1980 by Jet Records in the United Kingdom. The original LP release featured on side one the songs of Newton-John, and on side two the songs of ELO.
