Co-sponsored by OSI, this panel of experts in health and/or human rights explored the challenges of delivering humanitarian aid to Burma/Myanmar.

Five years ago, Burma’s military launched a brutal campaign against Rohingya – razing villages, raping, torturing, and perpetrating large-scale violence that killed thousands of Rohingya men, women, and children. More than 740,000 Rohingya were forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in Bangladesh.
So during my statement, I ask that we display some images that show the reality facing the people of Burma right now as a reminder of the human tragedy unfolding as we sit here today. These images are the result of the unprecedented level of violence in Burma's Rakhine State over the past 6 weeks.
