Leben. Telly Savalas, Sohn der griechischen Einwanderer Nikolaos und Christina Savalas, brach sein Psychologiestudium ab und wurde – wie seine jüngeren Brüder George und Gus – Soldat im Zweiten Weltkrieg und später mit dem Purple Heart ausgezeichnet. Danach arbeitete er für ABC Radio, bei dem er schließlich die Talkshow Telly’s Coffee House produzierte.
George got his start acting on Dick Powell Theater and went on to guest star in other televison series. Later on he acted in several films "Ghengis Khan" and "Kelly's Heroes" being the most notable. He was best known for his role as curly haired Detective Stavros on the television series "Kojak" (1973 to 1978).
