  3. Formulaic . Much of this album is Alan Parsons Project by the numbers. That is not intended as criticism, the music is well up to the usual high standard set by Parsons, but at times it does seem to simply be more of the same.. There are a couple of standout tracks, "Since the last goodbye" is one of those Parsons ballads which can bring a tear to a glass eye.

The Phil Spector-influenced "Don't Answer Me" was the album's lead single, and reached the Top 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts, as well as the fourth position on the Adult Contemporary chart.

  6. 21 de ene. de 2012 · Alan Parson's Project have always been a solid prog/pop band and 'Ammonia Avenue' is much along the same lines. Bought to replace a missing copy but the memory does play tricks and this was not as great as I remember - in fact I'm reminded of late seventies/early eighties 'Barclay James Harvest' (without the lyrical depth of BJH).
