Fred ”Sonic” Smith (14. syyskuuta 1949 – 4. marraskuuta 1994) oli yhdysvaltalainen kitaristi ja laulaja, joka muistetaan parhaiten yhtyeistä MC5 ja Sonic’s Rendezvous Band sekä laulaja Patti Smithin aviomiehenä. Hän soitti myös Patti Smithin albumilla Dream of Life.
