29 de jun. de 2020 · In 1984, Hay fired bassist John Rees and drummer Jerry Speiser from the band. Men At Work recorded their third album, 1985’s Two Hearts , with session musicians replacing Rees and Speiser.

History Origins. The nucleus of Men at Work formed in Melbourne around June 1979 with Colin Hay on lead vocals and guitar, Ron Strykert on bass guitar, and Jerry Speiser on drums. They were soon joined by Greg Ham on flute, sax and keyboards, and then John Rees on bass guitar, with Strykert switching to lead guitar. Hay had immigrated to Australia in 1967 from Scotland with his family.

Jerry Harold Speiser (born 1953) is an Australian drummer and occasional guitarist, best known as the drummer and a founding member of 1980s pop/new wave group Men at Work on drums; which had Australian, U.S. and UK hits with their singles, "Who Can It Be Now?" and "Down Under" and their albums, Business as Usual and Cargo.
