Rangitoto College has the largest number of teaching staff of any school in New Zealand with over 180 teachers. The College’s teachers are highly qualified in their specialist subjects and bring a diverse range of personal interests to the school that they can enrich our students with.
Rangitoto College is a large co-educational secondary school that caters for students from Years 9 – 13. The College’s values are pride, respect, integrity, courage, and excellence. The college had recently formed an Engagement and Development Programme partnership with Te Kawerau a Maki.
Rangitoto College offers the IB Diploma Programme as we feel it perfectly matches our core values of participation, integrity, respect, creativity, diversity and excellence. We understand that the skills needed to positively impact the future are not purely academic.
Competitive - Mondays 4pm - 5 pm at Apollo Drive - Snr. term 2 and jnr. term 3 Social - Monday & Friday, Gym 1 & 2, 3:20pm - 4:30pm in term 2 & 3. Rangitoto College teams play in the North Harbour competition at both junior and senior levels with games being played at the Apollo Badminton Centre (B – D Grade).

Rangitoto College is pleased to welcome Brett Harvey from Tāima Kōrero, Time 2 Talk, for a presentation to caregivers of students from all year levels. Join us on Tuesday 7 May from 7 pm in the Auditorium where Brett will discuss what our young people are actually viewing online, how they’re putting this to use, and how we can protect them from the harmful effects of the porn industry.
Rangitoto College is committed to providing a world-class educational experience and has been hosting international students for over 20 years. We currently have students from over 30 different countries. Due to the large amount of enrolments for 2024 wanting homestay we are currently placing new applications on a waiting list.
