Mit gerade mal 18 Jahren gab Jonny Lang sein Debüt beim Montreux Festival 1999 und hatte bis dahin schon 3 Alben veröffentlicht. Mit 12 Jahren lernte das Ausnahmetalent Gitarre spielen. Nachdem sein Vater ihn zu einem Konzert von The Bad Medicine Blues Band mitnahm, nahm er Gitarrenunterricht bei deren Gitarrist Ted Larsen.
