Knowing this it is difficult to imagine a greater dichotomy of the style of FATP and AC/DC but IMO the former is a much more innovative band, influencing an entire generation of 80s synthpop artists, from The Cars to Howard Jones, A-Ha, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, and so on. I find myself drawn in to the clever melodies and wry lyrics.
