A few weeks ago we looked at the Virginia Bluebells in my garden which are a perennial and also a native plant here in Missouri. This time we are looking at the Spanish Bluebells which are bulbs. Both are lovely in their own way.

Planting tips. Plant ‘in the green’ bluebells at the same depth they were previously grown – you can often see this where the leaf stalks change from white to green. If you’re using dry bulbs, place them 10cm deep and 10cm apart, with the pointed tip facing upwards.

Aside from the occasional gig or TV appearance, the Bluebells were largely defunct for the 2000s and 2010s. They did, however, return in 2023 with a mature and diverse second studio album, the aptly titled In the 21st Century.
