Ryan Bruni, who Miller and Margera met working at UPS, later replaced Smith, and remained with the band (as CKY) until 2000. Oil recorded new material in January 1997, which was released as a self-titled EP later in the year, and began recording their first full-length album at Holland, Pennsylvania studio The Groundhog in November.
