12 de may. de 2023 · Along with the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service were one of the first and best of the San Francisco '60s psychedelic bands. Though they shared with their peers an improvisational bent and eclectic roots in blues, jazz, folk, and rock, what helped set them apart was the distinctive twin-guitar work of John Cipollina and Gary Duncan, two virtuosic players.

Quicksilver Messenger Service er et amerikansk, psykedelisk rockeband, dannet i San Francisco i 1965.. Bandet har siden debutalbumet i 1968 med samme navn utgitt en rekke musikkalbum med skiftende bandbesetning. De er mest kjent for deres fremste hitsingel, «Fresh Air (song)» (fra albumet Just for Love), som nådde plass #49 på hitlistene i 1970.

I don't think I could ever heap enough praise on the many talented musicians and members of Quicksilver Messenger Service who made this masterpiece, and album, possible. The interplay of two of rock's greatest guitarists, Gary Duncan and John Cipollina, is never more perfected than it is on this live cover of Bo Diddley's most famous 50's rock anthem.
