31 de mar. de 2011 · DIAMONDS AND DIRT is Robertson’s first actual solo album and came about when discovered a bad of cassettes with demos and song snippets that he had hung on to all these years. After playing some of them to a friend the decision was made that they should be the basis of an album, a decision that we should all be thankful for.

Also known by the nickname Robbo, the Scottish axe slinger first gained fame as one-half of the guitar team fueling the 1974-1978 prime of the criminally underappreciated Thin Lizzy.

It's not for the first time in the history of rock music that coincidence led to the discovery of hidden treasures: a carrier bag full of music tapes (notice: tapes!) turned out to be the basis for DIAMONDS AND DIRT, the first solo release by Scottish guitarist/composer Brian Robertson, due to be released on 28 March 2011 (Germany: 25 March; US/Canada: April 5th) on Steamhammer/SPV.
