On Thursday 16 th May, Mrs Handy launched the first-ever St Mary’s Girlguiding Guide and Ranger unit in Chapel - the 4 th Calne (St Mary’s Calne) Guides and Rangers. This will make us unique among similar boarding schools as very few have their own unit in the modern day, though historically Guide units were often tied to a school.
St Mary’s Calne is a leading boarding and day school providing an exceptional all-round education for girls in a supportive environment, coupled with outstanding pastoral care and enviable co-curricular programmes. At St Mary’s, everyone is valued as an individual.
Girls will sit these examinations at St Mary's Calne in the January prior to entry. The Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarship Auditions and Assessments for Year 6 girls will take place in January prior to entry. The offer of an award is conditional on good performance at either Common Entrance or St Mary's own entrance examination in January.
St Mary’s Calne Tennis Academy (SMCTA) provides professional coaching to all students who request lessons, no matter what their ability. The lessons are scheduled around academic subjects and all coaches try to complete 35 weeks of lessons throughout the academic year.
