The charitable bodies governing Eastbourne College and the independent prep school, St Andrew’s Prep, amalgamated in February 2010 to become one charity. Collaboration between the two schools had always been extremely close but, until then, there had been no formal financial or governance links between them.
Pupils at Eastbourne College take the gold-standard A-level qualifications only and there was a 100 per cent pass rate. In addition to core A-level subjects, most sixth form pupils at Eastbourne College complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) to develop additional skills in preparation for university or a future career, with 24 A* grades achieved in EPQs this year.

STRUCTURE OF THE SCHOOL. Our two schools, Eastbourne College and St Andrew’s Prep are within one Charity.. The governors serve both as directors and trustees of the charitable company. As a board they are responsible for the overall strategy of the charity and they have statutory responsibility for key aspects of compliance including safeguarding and health & safety.
