After Chris Bell’s departure and tragic death, in 1978 at age 27, he was the sole member of Big Star to remain with Chilton for both of the original band’s follow-up releases, Radio City and Third, and its 2005 reunion album In Space with Posies members Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow.
