Bedales School Bedales has been the liberal alternative since 1893 (co-ed since 1898). Age 3 to 18; 70% of seniors board. We are disciplined but not rule-bound (no uniform!); relaxed but respectful (everyone uses first names). Creative arts and outdoor work are strong.

Bedales School achieves consistently good academic results despite not being overly selective. In 2021, 65% of GCSE and BAC grades were 9-7 grades and 21% of A-Level grades were A grades. Not being keen on the GCSE curriculum (too restrictive!), Bedales School introduced the Bedales Assessed Courses (BAC).
