City of London School for Girls is a selective, independent day school in the heart of the City. Girls come to us from all over London. It is a unique learning environment, and we are delighted that you are considering joining us. We aim to make the admissions process as seamless and transparent as possible.
Selection of candidates for 13+ 2027 begins when a child is in Year 6, to join CLS in Year 9. Please note that for 13+ entry from 2028, candidates will apply and sit entrance assessments in Year 8 and we will confirm details of the Year 8 assessments in due course. Bursaries are available at this point of entry to cover up to 100% of school fees.

The School was established by the Corporation of the City of London with money from a bequest from William Ward of Brixton to provide education for girls that "would correspond, as near as may be, to the City of London School".
Outside of the classroom, the sixth form provides students with a wide range of exciting opportunities. We offer a general studies programme where students select four courses of interest to them, such as photography, first aid, sign language, cooking, medical ethics and astronomy.
