Edie Brickell & New Bohemians toerden in 1989 door Europa als voorprogramma van, afzonderlijk, Bob Dylan en Willie Nelson. Op 27 januari waren ze in Nederland voor een concert in Paradiso; hier werden ook nummers gespeeld die op het tweede album kwamen te staan, en ter afsluiting een cover van Lou Reeds Walk on the Wild Side (opgenomen voor de film Flashback ).

Edie Brickell was a pioneer of sorts, reviving the gangly sound of hippie folk-rock in the late 1980s just before it became trendy. With her band New Bohemians, Brickell scored an unexpected Top Ten hit in 1988 with "What I Am," a dreamy, loose-limbed number that quietly stood in opposition to the heady materialism of the '80s.
