To coincide with the opening of the exposition at the 24 Hours Museum (from 21 October 2019 to 23 February 2020) dedicated to the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans and release of the film "Le Mans 66" a.k.a. "Ford v Ferrari" (15 November), this series revisits the 34th running of the race staged on the big screen by James Mangold.

Ken Miles was crucial to Ford’s triumph at Le Mans in 1966, having developed and raced the Ford GT40, as depicted in the film Ford v Ferrari (Le Mans ’66 in Europe).Miles famously missed out on winning at Le Mans when he gave up a dominant lead in an effort to ensure a tied finish with the second-placed GT40 — to underline their defeat of the previous victorious Ferrari team.
Leben. Ken Miles, der mit dem Lotus-Formel-1-Piloten John Miles nicht verwandt war, wuchs in der Nähe von Birmingham auf, einer Stadt, in der während der Zwischenkriegszeit mit Rover und MG zwei wichtige britische Automobilhersteller beheimatet waren. Miles machte eine Ausbildung zum Fahrzeugingenieur und arbeitete in der britischen Fahrzeugindustrie bis zum Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs.
