Ip Man was born on October 1, 1893 in Foshan, China. He was trained by Chan Wah-shun [2] [3] in the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun, a close combat style of Kung Fu from Southern China. He would develop his skills to an incredible level, but he always maintained his modesty.
