With 14 seasons over as many years, NBC’s Bonanza ranks as the second-longest-running western series on a U.S. network television, second only to CBS’s Gunsmoke, which aired over 600 episodes between 1955 and 1975.Even after all these years, it remains in the top 10 longest-running live-action American shows ever.

I've just loaded this 1965 press photo to our Gallery but thought I'd explain the story behind the picture! Soon after DeForest Kelley made one of his guest star appearances in Bonanza he was busy filming the 1965 movie called Town Tamer which also starred Dana Andrews, Terry Moore, Pat O'Brien, Lon Chaney Jr, Richard Arlen, Richard Jaeckel, Philip Carey, Sonny Tufts and Coleen Gray.
