Weekend crowds can be big, but the ski area is equipped to handle them. With 12 lifts including 2 high-speed, detachable quads, they can move a lot of skiers uphill quickly. Cascade offers 45 trails, four terrain parks and 15 snow tubing lanes. The 9 million dollar expansion phase 1 of 3 was just completed for the 2016/2017 ski season.

Just had the opportunity to ski at Cascade Mountain and had an excellent time. Used to ski regularly out west, but have been sidelined for that last 25 years. Drove up to Cascade Mtn for the 1st time and was pleasantly surprised. We skied on Tuesday 2/11, two days after a nice snowfall in the area. The trails were all groomed nicely.
Cascade Mountain Day and night skiing 30 miles north of Madison near Portage, Wisconsin. The Snow Shuttle Xpress goes back and forth from Cascade to several stops in Portage.
