Ridley Scott lost the plot (literally) with his Alien movies. It would've been a real roll of the dice if he'd directed Blade Runner 2049. He's also on record as blaming "young people and their cellphones" for the box office failure of The Last Duel, which further makes me question his particular perspective on things.
