Peter O'Toole was an Irish-born British actor of stage and screen. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his career in the theatre before transitioning to film in the early 1960s. He is best known for his role as T.E. Lawrence in the 1962 epic Lawrence of Arabia, for which he received seven Academy Award nominations.
