Ryuichi Sakamoto (born January 17, 1952 in Tokyo, Japan; died March 28, 2023, in Tokyo) was a Japanese musician, composer and actor. Sakamoto studied at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, where he graduated with a BA in composition, and a Master's degree with special emphasis electronic and ethnic music.

He was 71. Sakamoto revealed in June 2022 that he had been battling stage IV cancer.
Ryuichi Sakamoto (坂本 龍一, Sakamoto Ryūichi, 17 Januari 1952 – 28 Maret 2023) adalah komposer, penyanyi, penulis lagu, produser rekaman, aktivis, dan aktor asal Jepang. Ia merupakan anak dari editor Jepang Kazuki Sakamoto []. Pada tahun 1978, Sakamoto bersama dua rekannya, Yukihiro Takahashi dan Haruomi Hosono, membentuk grup musik Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO).
