About to start the game just wondering if Orpheus was tweaked to be any better in the remake. Hes not meant to stay with you beyond the first part of the game but he is definitely tweaked. He resists Fire and learns Dia for what it’s worth. Not something you’ll wanna keep past like Floor 15, but I’d say he’s better.
Orpheus went to save his wife from the underworld and ultimately failed, as you do in the bad ending. Jesus went to save mankind from damnation and succeeded, as you do in the good ending. Their journeys have the same basic outline, but Jesus pulled it off and Orpheus did not. There may be something to that.
More importantly, Orpheus went on a journey. He traveled into Tartarus to save Eurydice (if you notice, Junpei's and Yukari's initial Personas are also Greek figures whose myths feature them traveling into Tartarus--this was intentional). His goal was to save someone. He failed, and eventually met death (Thanatos).
