Handlung. Mermaid in a Manhole ist die Nacherzählung eines Mangas von Hideshi Hino, der bei diesem Teil der Reihe auch selbst Regie führte.Er handelt von einem Künstler, der, während er versucht, den Tod seiner Frau zu überwinden, in der Kanalisation von Okinawa eine verwundete Meerjungfrau findet. Er nimmt sie mit nach Hause und nach einer Weile beginnt sie, aus ihren Wunden zu bluten.

A painter whose wife has recently died literally finds a mermaid in a manhole, and he had previously met this mermaid before during his childhood. He paints pictures of her as her body is ravished with festering boils, and eventually he dismembers her.
Hideshi Hino’s “Mermaid in a Manhole”? So the final entry in the infamous Japanese shock horror film series “Guinea Pig” is called Mermaid in a Manhole, and is apparently based on a manga by Hideshi Hino. Years ago the company Unearthed Films released a box set of the whole series which apparently included a physical copy of the manga.
13 de mar. de 2016 · Horror manga artist Hideshi Hino’s Mermaid in a Manhole (which is also is adapted from his own manga of the same name) is truly a obscure piece of Japanese horror cinema that is truly disturbing and grossly unsettling. 1980s Japanese horror cinema was the stuff of uncomfortable, disturbing and nightmarish visions of hell and this film is no exception to it.
