Elizabeth Seton High School was established on March 15, 1957, and opened with an enrollment of 138 freshmen and a faculty of six Daughters of Charity in September 1959. As early as 1965, the Maryland State Department of Education issued a Certificate of Approval to the school and in 1968 the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools accredited it.

In 2015, Elizabeth Seton School celebrated its 40th anniversary with the theme “40tude is an attitude.” The anniversary began with the schools pioneering social service program “Dugtong Buhay” which yielded one of the largest single donation ever given to the Philippine National Red Cross by a private organization.
The Seton Financial Aid application opens October 9, 2023. The Seton financial aid application is need based aid provided by Elizabeth Seton High School.
