Pierre Brissaud (December 23, 1885 – 1964) was a French Art Deco illustrator, painter and engraver.He was born in Paris, France and trained at the École des Beaux-Arts and Atelier Fernand Cormon in Montmartre, Paris.His fellow Cormon students were André-Édouard Marty, Charles Martin and Georges Lepape.Students at the workshop drew, painted and designed wallpaper, furniture and posters.
Brissaud’s illustrations appeared in Vogue after it acquired the Gazette du Bon Ton in 1925, as well as in the American magazines Vogue, House & Garden and Fortune. Brissaud also provided illustrations for editions of several books, notably the Abbé Prevost’s Manon Lescaut, Honoré de Balzac’s Le père Goriot, Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary and Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac.
