Francesco Scavullo (January 16, 1921 – January 6, 2004) was an American fashion photographer best known for his work on the covers of Cosmopolitan and his celebrity portraits. Born in Staten Island, Scavullo began to pursue his fascination with images of beauty by picking up his father's camera and taking snapshots, using his sisters as models.

He photographed for the covers of Time, Life, Vogue, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Town and Country, Harper’s Bazaar, Mademoiselle, and Glamour. His photo of Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer graced the cover of their 12″ single “No More Tears.”.
Scavullo, Francesco (b. 16 January 1921 in New York City; d. 6 January 2004 in New York City), fashion and portrait photographer.Scavullo was born on Staten Island, one of the five children of Angelo Carmelo Scavullo and Margaret (Pavis) Scavullo. Perhaps in keeping with the fashion world’s celebration of youth, he later shaved eight years off his date of birth.
