Mark Manning und Zodiac Mindwarp. Manning hatte nach seinem Kunststudium keine musikalischen Ambitionen und kam laut eigener Aussage durch einen Zufall zur Musik, als ihn im Bus der Musikmanager Dave Balfe ansprach. Er arbeitete zu der Zeit als Grafikdesigner für das Magazin Flexipop und schuf Zodiac Mindwarp als comichaftes Alter Ego, ohne besondere Karriereabsichten.

Formed in 1985, Zodiac Mindwarp And The Love Reaction projected an image encompassing everything from sex maniacs and party animals to leather-clad bikers. Put together by Zodiac (b. Mark Manning), a former graphic designer, their image and attitude was always more interesting than their music.
Forming Zodiac Mindwarp & the Love Reaction in the mid-'80s, the singer has subsequently enlisted the aid of musicians with extremely colorful names over the years -- Cobalt Stargazer, Slam Thunderhide, Evil Bastard, Flash Bastard, and Trash D Garbage are but a few who have served in the Love Reaction ranks.
