Magnapop are an Alternative Rock band from Athens, Georgia that was founded by the songwriting duo of vocalist Linda Hopper and guitarist Ruthie Morris. They went through a few name changes in their early years: The band was known as Homemade Sister when they released their first single Rip the Wreck in 1990, but changed to "Swell" (and then "Swell Dopa", after the band learned of Swell).
