Satisfied Mind. Satisfied Mind is the sixth album by American rock band The Walkabouts, released in 1993 on Sub Pop. [1] It consists entirely of covers of roots music and compositions by modern singer-songwriters, including songs authored by the Carter Family, Gene Clark, Mary Margaret O'Hara, John Cale, Nick Cave, Patti Smith and Charlie Rich. [2]
The Walkabouts formed in the early 1980s in Seattle, centering on the songwriting and singing talents of Chris Eckman and Carla Torgenson. The group experienced line-up changes over the years, but Eckman and Torgenson remained true to the group’s sound, which drew heavily on folk, country, and roots music, with an equal debt to French chanson and emotive singer-songwriters like Leonard Cohen.
