Andrew Niccol urodził się 10 czerwca 1964 roku w Paraparaumu w Nowej Zelandii. Swoje dzieciństwo dorastał w Auckland, a w 1973 roku w wieku 9 lat uczęszczał do państwowej szkoły średniej Auckland Grammar School. Andrew M. Niccol (Paraparaumu, 1964) is een Nieuw-Zeelandse scenarioschrijver, filmproducent en -regisseur. Niccol schreef en regisseerde de films Gattaca, S1m0ne en Lord of War. Daarnaast schreef en co-produceerde hij The Truman Show, waarvoor hij werd genomineerd voor een Oscar voor beste scenario.
