Le Fidèle does not distinguish itself from many other crime dramas in terms of narrative, but convinces through the strong playing of Schoenaerts and the young Adèle. The latter has the natural charisma of an acting veteran, and the energy needed to respond to Schoenaert's unruly character. Schoenaerts himself plays with unbridled intensity.
