This is a live album recording a solo show by Irmin Schmidt on piano plus some additional sounds (at least partly manually made but in parts also from recordings) in 2020. There are three tracks, the first of which, Klavierstück II, already appeared in 2018 on the 5 Klavierstücke album.
29 de may. de 2020 · Irmin Schmidt’s last album, 2018’s 5 Klavierstücke was a piano work using partly prepared (in the way he was taught by John Cage himself) and unprepared piano, recorded and produced by Gareth Jones in the South of France and a recently updated collection of Irmin Schmidt’s solo work, Villa Wunderbar, was released on vinyl at the end of last year.
In 2019 Irmin started touring with his new album „5 Klavierstücke“. The concert on the 21st November at the Contemporary Music Festival in Huddersfield was recorded in St Paul’s Church and. subsequently released on the 29th May 2020: „NOCTURNE“ is released by Spoon Records and Mute on CD, limited edition white Vinyl and download.

The German collective, formed in Cologne in 1968, drew from elements of rock, jazz, ethnic funk, classical music and minimalism to create a new kind of language, governed by an intuitive sense of exploration.

9 de mar. de 2024 · Irmin Schmidt, der von Anfang bis Ende der Bandgeschichte die Keys dortselbst bediente, ist uns – unter wenigen anderen – zumindest noch erhalten und veröffentlicht rege. Heuer u. a.: Fünf Klavierstücke auf »5 Klavierstücke«, das auf Spoon Records, dem von Sandra Podmore und Irmins Ehegattin Hildegard Schmidt geführten Traditionslabel, veröffentlicht wird.
