Metamorphosis es el cuarto álbum de estudio del grupo Iron Butterfly, lanzado en 1970.Aunque no le fue tan bien como Ball (1969), el álbum alcanzó el puesto número 16 en las listas de Estados Unidos. En el álbum aparecen dos nuevos miembros, Mike Pinera y Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt (Larry es llamado El Rhino en el álbum Metamorphosis) en la guitarra.

13 de dic. de 2006 · i bought this cd because my brother had the lp in the early 70's. it became a favorite of mine. i had iron butterfly's debut album, but never bought 'inna godda da vida'' i suppose because the radio stations played it to death. i highly recommend this cd as a reminder of iron butterfly's stature as a innovative 60's band
In all, this is a very average album. Two stars. 1970 was like a dark amorphous cloud that roamed across the musical landscape seeking out rock bands singing about flowers & beads to absorb, consume and spit out the bones. Iron Butterfly saw the cloud approaching, and weren't going down without a fight.

Though not as successful as its predecessor Ball (1969), it reached number 16 on the US charts. Erik Brann, who left because of band disputes, was replaced by four session guitarists.
